86 The Comet
Al-Taareq
Juz 30
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. (1) And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? (2) - The piercing Star! (3) There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) (4) So man must consider from what he has been created. (5) He was created from spurting fluid, (6) Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: (7) God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). (8) The Day when secrets will be put on trial, (9) Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. (10) Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, (11) and the replenishing earth, (12) Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. (13) And it is not a frivolity. (14) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) (15) But I too am devising a plan. (16) So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. (17)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
