The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, (1) And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? (2) - The piercing Star! (3) That over each soul there is a guardian. (4) So let man consider of what he is created: (5) He is created from a water gushing forth. (6) issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. (7) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) (8) The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, (9) when he will be helpless, with no supporter. (10) By the Firmament which returns (in its round), (11) And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) (12) Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. (13) not a flippant jest. (14) As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, (15) And I (too) will make a scheme. (16) Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. (17)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
