The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, (1) And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); (2) And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; (3) slain were the Men of the Pit, (4) by a burning fire (5) They sat by it (6) And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). (7) whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, (8) To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. (9) Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. (10) For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), (11) The vengeance of God is terribly severe. (12) It is He who originates and repeats. (13) And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, (14) Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, (15) a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. (16) Has the story of the hordes (17) Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? (18) But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, (19) However, God encompassed their activities. (20) Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, (21) inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. (22)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
