The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder (1) And obeys its Lord and it must. (2) And when the earth is flattened out, (3) And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty (4) And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. (5) O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. (6) Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, (7) Soon an easy account will be taken from him. (8) and shall return to his people joyfully. (9) But as for he who is given his record behind his back, (10) He shall call for perdition, (11) and will enter the Blazing Fire. (12) He verily lived joyous with his folk, (13) Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! (14) Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! (15) No! I swear by the twilight (16) And the night and all it gathers, (17) And the moon when it grows full, (18) That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. (19) What aileth them then, that they believe not, (20) And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ (21) But those who have disbelieved deny, (22) and God knows very well what they are secreting. (23) So give them tidings of a painful doom, (24) Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. (25)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
