The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, (1) and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; (2) And when the earth is stretched forth, (3) and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, (4) and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! (5) O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. (6) he who is given his record in his right hand (7) he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, (8) And will return unto his folk in joy. (9) But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, (10) shall cry for “perdition,” (11) and will enter the Blazing Fire. (12) He verily lived joyous with his folk, (13) thinking he would never revert (to Us). (14) Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. (15) So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; (16) or by the night in which things all come together to rest, (17) And by the moon when she is at the full, (18) [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. (19) What aileth them, then, that they believe not (20) And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ (21) Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! (22) And Allah knows best what they hide, (23) Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. (24) Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. (25)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
