The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, (1) And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. (2) And when the earth is spread out (3) and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, (4) And obeys its Lord and it must. (5) O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: (6) And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, (7) Will have an easy reckoning, (8) and he shall return to his people, joyfully, (9) But he who is given the Record behind his back, (10) shall call for destruction (11) but he will enter the blazing flame. (12) Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind (13) Verily he imagined that he would not be back. (14) But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. (15) I swear by the twilight; (16) and the night and what it envelops (17) And [by] the moon when it becomes full (18) That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. (19) What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? (20) And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ (21) Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; (22) Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. (23) So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, (24) But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. (25)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
