The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder (1) and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; (2) And when the earth is stretched, (3) And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty (4) And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. (5) O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. (6) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, (7) He will be judged with an easy account (8) And will return to his people full of joy. (9) But he who is given the Record behind his back, (10) He shall presently call for death, (11) And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. (12) He once lived among his family joyfully; (13) thinking he would never revert (to Us). (14) Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. (15) BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, (16) by the night and all that it envelops; (17) and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: (18) You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). (19) What aileth them then, that they believe not, (20) And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ (21) Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. (22) and Allah knows very well what they gather. (23) Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] (24) Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. (25)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
