The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, (1) And attentive to her Lord in fear, (2) And when the earth shall be stretched forth. (3) And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. (4) and obeys its Lord as it must, (5) Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). (6) Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, (7) he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, (8) and he shall return to his people, joyfully, (9) But whoso is given his account behind his back, (10) Soon he will pray for death. (11) but he will enter the blazing flame. (12) He verily lived joyous with his folk, (13) he surely thought he would never revert. (14) Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! (15) I swear by the glow of sunset, (16) And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. (17) And the Moon in her fullness: (18) [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. (19) What is the matter with them, that they believe not? (20) And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ (21) Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! (22) but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. (23) So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, (24) Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. (25)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
