The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], (1) those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; (2) But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. (3) Do those not think that they shall be raised up (4) For a mighty day, (5) The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? (6) No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. (7) and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- (8) It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). (9) Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth (10) those who deny the Day of Judgement. (11) Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; (12) who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". (13) No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. (14) Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, (15) Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. (16) They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." (17) Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - (18) And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? (19) The record is a sealed text. (20) Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). (21) Surely the pious shall be in bliss, (22) resting on couches, looking around. (23) Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. (24) as they are given to drink of a wine sealed (25) Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - (26) Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), (27) a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. (28) Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. (29) when they passed by them they winked, (30) And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; (31) On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". (32) Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. (33) So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, (34) upon couches gazing. (35) Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? (36)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
