The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) (1) Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! (2) Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! (3) Do not these think that they shall be raised again (4) On a Great Day, (5) a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? (6) No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. (7) And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? (8) (It is) a marked Book. (9) Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, (10) Those who belie the Day of Requital. (11) And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) (12) When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' (13) No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. (14) Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; (15) They will suffer the heat of fire (16) and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' (17) Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. (18) And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? (19) A record [indelibly] inscribed, (20) To which bear witness those brought nigh. (21) Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, (22) On thrones, watching. (23) Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. (24) They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, (25) whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- (26) And it is mixed with Tasneem. (27) A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. (28) Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, (29) And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, (30) And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. (31) and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," (32) though they were not sent to be their keepers -- (33) This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, (34) On adorned couches, observing. (35) Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? (36)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
