The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, (1) Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, (2) but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! (3) Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again (4) on a great day (5) a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? (6) No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. (7) And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? (8) A written record. (9) Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, (10) Who deny the Day of Recompense. (11) Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; (12) When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' (13) No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. (14) Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. (15) and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire (16) They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." (17) Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - (18) and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- (19) (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, (20) which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. (21) Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. (22) On thrones, they shall gaze; (23) You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. (24) They will be served the choicest wine, sealed (25) whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- (26) And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, (27) A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. (28) The sinners indeed laughed at believers (29) When passing by them, they would wink at one another (30) and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; (31) and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" (32) (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. (33) On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers (34) On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). (35) Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. (36)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
