Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: (1) Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, (2) But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. (3) Do not these think that they shall be raised again (4) Unto an Awful Day, (5) The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? (6) Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. (7) And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! (8) A written record. (9) Woe, that Day, to the deniers, (10) Those who deny the Day of Justice. (11) and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. (12) When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. (13) No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. (14) Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. (15) Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. (16) Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" (17) However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. (18) What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! (19) It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). (20) witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. (21) Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. (22) Reclining on couches, looking on. (23) Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. (24) Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: (25) pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: (26) With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: (27) A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. (28) BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith (29) And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. (30) and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, (31) and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; (32) Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. (33) So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. (34) as they sit on couches, gazing around. (35) Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? (36)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
