The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], (1) Who insist on being given full when they take from others, (2) but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. (3) Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), (4) On a Great Day, (5) The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? (6) Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- (7) And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? (8) It is a written book. (9) Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. (10) those who deny the Day of Judgement. (11) And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) (12) And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! (13) Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. (14) Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; (15) Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. (16) and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." (17) Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - (18) Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - (19) a written record, (20) Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. (21) Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, (22) On thrones, they shall gaze; (23) You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. (24) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. (25) The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire (26) With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, (27) A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. (28) Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. (29) And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. (30) and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; (31) and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," (32) But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). (33) So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, (34) as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). (35) The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. (36)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
