Al-Mutaffifeen
Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), (1) Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! (2) And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. (3) Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), (4) For a mighty day, (5) The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? (6) Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. (7) And what can make you know what is sijjeen? (8) It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. (9) Woe on that day to the rejecters, (10) Who call the Day of judgement a lie! (11) None belies it except every guilty sinner. (12) When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." (13) No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. (14) Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. (15) and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire (16) Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' (17) Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. (18) What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! (19) It is a (repository of) distinctly written record (20) The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. (21) The righteous shall indeed be blissful, (22) Reclining on couches, looking on. (23) You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. (24) They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, (25) its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; (26) And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, (27) a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. (28) Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, (29) And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, (30) and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, (31) and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," (32) though they were not sent to be their keepers -- (33) On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers (34) Reclining on couches, looking on. (35) Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? (36)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
