83 The Cheaters
Al-Mutaffifeen
Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), (1) Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, (2) And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. (3) Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again (4) On a grievous day, (5) The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. (6) No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; (7) And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? (8) A written record. (9) Woe, that Day, to those that deny- (10) those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: (11) And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! (12) When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" (13) No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. (14) Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. (15) Then they shall roast in Hell, (16) Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' (17) NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! (18) And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? (19) (It is) a marked Book, (20) To which bear witness those brought nigh. (21) Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: (22) On adorned couches, observing. (23) On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. (24) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. (25) The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. (26) With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, (27) The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. (28) The sinners indeed laughed at believers (29) when them passed them by winking at one another, (30) and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; (31) And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” (32) And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... (33) On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers (34) Regarding them from their cushioned seats. (35) Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? (36)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
