Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: (1) Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, (2) But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. (3) Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again (4) On a grievous day, (5) when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? (6) Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. (7) Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - (8) It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). (9) Woe on that day to the rejecters, (10) Those that deny the Day of Judgment. (11) None denies it but the sinful transgressors. (12) And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! (13) No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. (14) No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. (15) Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. (16) Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. (17) But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. (18) and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? (19) A Register inscribed. (20) To which bear witness those brought nigh. (21) Surely the pious shall be in bliss, (22) upon couches gazing; (23) You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. (24) They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, (25) The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. (26) and its mixture is Tasneem, (27) a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. (28) The sinners had been laughing at the believers. (29) and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; (30) and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; (31) And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” (32) But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! (33) But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: (34) On adorned couches, observing. (35) Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? (36)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
