Al-Mutaffifeen
Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], (1) Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, (2) Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. (3) Do not these think that they shall be raised again (4) for a great Day, (5) A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? (6) No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! (7) And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? (8) it is a written record. (9) Ah the woe that day for those who deny, (10) Those who deny the Day of Recompense. (11) And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. (12) who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". (13) They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. (14) No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. (15) They will suffer the heat of fire (16) Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' (17) Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. (18) And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? (19) It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). (20) Witnessed by those who are honoured. (21) The virtuous will surely be in bliss, (22) On couches face to face. (23) You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. (24) They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. (25) whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- (26) And mixed with water of Tasnim, (27) a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. (28) Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: (29) when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; (30) and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, (31) and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," (32) (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. (33) This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, (34) On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). (35) Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? (36)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
