The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), (1) Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, (2) But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. (3) Do not these think that they shall be raised again (4) On a Great Day, (5) The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? (6) Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. (7) And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? (8) A written record. (9) Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. (10) those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. (11) And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! (12) When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' (13) No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. (14) By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. (15) Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. (16) Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" (17) By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. (18) Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - (19) It is a Book inscribed, (20) witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). (21) Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. (22) On thrones, they shall gaze; (23) You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. (24) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. (25) pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: (26) And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: (27) a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. (28) Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. (29) And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. (30) and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, (31) And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." (32) Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. (33) So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, (34) Reclining on couches, looking on. (35) Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? (36)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
