Al-Mutaffifeen
Juz 30
The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who give short measure, (1) who, when people measure for them, take full measure, (2) But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. (3) Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead (4) On a grievous day, (5) the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? (6) Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. (7) And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? (8) (It is) a marked Book. (9) Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth (10) and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. (11) And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! (12) When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" (13) By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! (14) Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, (15) and then they shall enter Hell, (16) and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." (17) Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. (18) And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? (19) A book inscribed, (20) Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. (21) The virtuous will live in bliss, (22) On adorned couches, observing. (23) You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. (24) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. (25) The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. (26) With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, (27) A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). (28) Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. (29) And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. (30) And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. (31) On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". (32) And they were not sent to be keepers over them. (33) But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: (34) seated upon their couches, they are looking around. (35) Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? (36)
Almighty God's Truth.
