The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, (1) and when the stars lose their light, (2) The mountains made to move, (3) and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, (4) when the savage beasts shall be brought together, (5) when the seas shall be set boiling, (6) And when the souls are paired (7) and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: (8) For what sin she was killed? (9) and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, (10) when heaven is stripped, (11) And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, (12) And when Paradise is brought near. (13) then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. (14) So I swear by the retreating stars - (15) the planets that run their course and set, (16) And the close of night, (17) The rising dawn, (18) Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, (19) Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, (20) [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! (21) Your companion is not possessed; (22) he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; (23) Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. (24) Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. (25) Whither then go ye? (26) It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, (27) to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. (28) And what will you wish, except if Allah wills the Lord of the Creation. (29)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
