The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, (1) and when the stars lose their light, (2) and the mountains have been taken, (3) And when the camels big with young are abandoned, (4) And when wild animals are herded together. (5) when the seas shall be set boiling, (6) And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; (7) when the buried female infant is asked (8) For what crime she was put to death; (9) when the records of men's deeds are laid open, (10) And when the sky is stripped away (11) When Hell is set ablaze, (12) and Paradise brought nigh: (13) A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. (14) I swear by the receding stars. (15) The planets withdrawing into themselves, (16) And by the night as it departs; (17) And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- (18) Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, (19) Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. (20) Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. (21) Your companion is not mad. (22) in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, (23) He is not avid of the Unseen. (24) Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. (25) So where are you going? (26) This is merely a reminder to all mankind; (27) For the one among you who wishes to become upright. (28) But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. (29)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
