The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). (1) and when the stars lose their light, (2) The mountains made to move, (3) and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, (4) And when the wild beasts are herded together, (5) when the seas shall be set boiling, (6) When souls are reunited (with the bodies) (7) questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, (8) for what sin she was slain, (9) and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, (10) And when the sky is torn away, (11) When Hell is set ablaze, (12) when Paradise is brought close: (13) then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. (14) So I swear by the retreating stars - (15) That run their course (and) hide themselves, (16) And the close of night, (17) And the breath of morning (18) This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel peace and blessings be upon him.) (19) one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; (20) With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. (21) (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; (22) Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. (23) nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; (24) The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. (25) When whither go ye? (26) It is naught but a reminder for the nations, (27) for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; (28) But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. (29)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
