The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, (1) when the stars shall scatter away, (2) And when the mountains are made to pass away, (3) And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, (4) when the savage beasts are gathered (5) when the seas shall be set boiling, (6) When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); (7) and when the female infant buried alive is asked (8) for what sin she was killed, (9) when the records of men's deeds are laid open, (10) And when the heaven shall be stripped, (11) And when the hell is kindled up, (12) And when the Garden is brought near;- (13) Every soul will then come know what it has brought. (14) So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). (15) that hide, (16) The closing night, (17) And by the dawn when it breathes (18) Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, (19) of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne (20) The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). (21) Your companion is not one possessed: (22) And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. (23) Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. (24) Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. (25) Where then are you going? (26) This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, (27) To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, (28) but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. (29)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
