The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, (1) And when the stars shall fall; (2) And when the mountains are made to pass away, (3) And when milch camels roam abandoned. (4) when the savage beasts shall be mustered, (5) And when the seas are set on fire, (6) And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; (7) when the buried infant shall be asked (8) for what offence was she killed? (9) And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; (10) The curtain drawn back from the skies, (11) and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, (12) And when Paradise is brought near. (13) then shall each person know what he has brought along. (14) I swear by the receding stars. (15) And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, (16) and the night that falls, (17) And the breath of morning (18) behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, (19) Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, (20) obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. (21) And your comrade is not mad. (22) he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; (23) And he is not avid of the Unseen. (24) nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. (25) Whither then go ye? (26) It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, (27) Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. (28) And what will you wish, except if Allah wills the Lord of the Creation. (29)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
