The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, (1) the stars are made to fade away, (2) and the mountains have been taken, (3) when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, (4) When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); (5) And when the seas rise, (6) And when souls are reunited, (7) and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: (8) For what sin she was slain. (9) when the scrolls are unrolled, (10) And when the sky is torn away, (11) when Hell is set ablaze, (12) And when the garden is brought nigh, (13) Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. (14) So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). (15) Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, (16) and the night as it darkly falls, (17) by the dawn sighing, (18) That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, (19) Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, (20) (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; (21) Your companion is not possessed; (22) he truly saw him on the clear horizon; (23) And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. (24) This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. (25) So where are you going? (26) Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: (27) to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. (28) But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. (29)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
