He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away (1) that the blind man came to him. (2) How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, (3) or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? (4) As for him who is not in want of any thing, (5) To him you attend; (6) although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; (7) But he who comes to you running, (8) and fearfully, (9) From him will you divert yourself. (10) By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: (11) and whosoever wills, shall remember it. (12) (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, (13) exalted and purified, (14) [borne] by the hands of messengers (15) Noble, virtuous. (16) Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. (17) From what did He create him? (18) He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate (19) and then made the course of life easy for him, (20) then makes him to die, and buries him, (21) Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) (22) Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. (23) So man must look at his food. (24) That We pour forth water in abundance, (25) and let the earth to break open (26) And caused to grow within it grain (27) together with grapes and vegetables, (28) and olive trees and date-palms, (29) And enclosed gardens luxuriant. (30) And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), (31) A provision for you and for your cattle. (32) So when the deafening Shout arrives, (33) On that day man will run away from his brother. (34) And his mother and his father (35) As well as his wife and children. (36) For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. (37) Many a face will be glittering on that day. (38) laughing, and rejoicing, (39) And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. (40) Blackness overcoming them. (41) Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. (42)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
