Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) from a blind man who had come up to him. (2) And what would make you know that he would purify himself, (3) or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? (4) Now he who waxes indifferent, (5) To him you give attention. (6) Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). (7) As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), (8) and fearfully, (9) to him thou payest no heed. (10) Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, (11) and whosoever wills, shall remember it. (12) It is set down on honoured pages, (13) Exalted, pure. (14) In the hands of scribes (15) noble, pious. (16) Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; (17) From what has God created him? (18) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (19) He makes his path easy for him. (20) then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, (21) then, He will raise him when He wills. (22) By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. (23) Then let mankind look at his food - (24) how We pour down rain in abundance, (25) and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; (26) And caused to grow within it grain (27) And grapes and herbage (28) and the olive, and the palm, (29) Orchards thick with trees, (30) And fruits and grass, (31) [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. (32) But, when the Blast comes, (33) on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, (34) And from his mother and his father, (35) his wife and his sons: (36) on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- (37) Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, (38) Laughing, rejoicing at good news; (39) whereas some faces will be covered with dust (40) with darkness overspread: (41) Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. (42)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
