He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, (1) Because a blind man came to him. (2) Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, (3) or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. (4) As for he who thinks himself without need, (5) to a rich man, (6) Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. (7) As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), (8) and fears (Allah), (9) Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, (10) These verses are a reminder (11) Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. (12) It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, (13) Exalted, Purified, (14) In the hands of scribes (angels). (15) Honourable and Virtuous. (16) Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! (17) From what did He create him? (18) From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; (19) and then made the course of life easy for him, (20) He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. (21) and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. (22) Yet man declines to do His bidding. (23) Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. (24) That We pour forth water in abundance, (25) then We split the earth in fissures (26) Then We cause to grow therein the grain, (27) And grapes and herbage (28) and olives and palms, (29) And dense gardens, (30) And fruits and herbage: (31) Provision for you and your cattle. (32) But when the Shout cometh (33) On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) As well as his wife and children. (36) Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. (37) Some faces will shine, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. (40) and overcast with gloom: (41) Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
