He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attend to him, 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 exalted, purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and purified. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And produce therein corn, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 and from his mother and father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
