He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away (1) that the blind man came to him. (2) You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, (3) or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. (4) As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), (5) To him you give attention. (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) And as to him who comes to you striving hard, (8) and in awe of God (9) You neglect. (10) Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. (11) So whoever wishes may remember it. (12) (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, (13) uplifted, purified, (14) By the hands of scribes. (15) noble, pious. (16) Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! (17) From what substance did He create him? (18) Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, (19) Then eased the way for him. (20) Then He caused him to die and be buried (21) Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. (22) Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. (23) Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. (24) We poured down rain abundantly, (25) And We split the earth in clefts, (26) And cause the grain to grow therein (27) together with grapes and vegetables, (28) and the olive, and the palm, (29) and dense orchards, (30) And fruit and grass - (31) an enjoyment for you and your flocks. (32) But when the deafening cry comes, (33) That Day shall a man flee from his brother, (34) mother, father, (35) And his wife and his sons; (36) Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. (37) Some faces that Day will be beaming, (38) laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. (39) And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, (40) Darkness shall cover them. (41) These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. (42)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
