He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, (1) Because there came to him the blind man. (2) How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, (3) or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. (4) As for he who is sufficed (5) So you are after him! (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) And for him who came to you striving, (8) And is also fearful (of God), (9) of him you were unmindful. (10) By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: (11) So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. (12) (Contained) in honoured pages, (13) Exalted, Purified, (14) by the hands of the noble, virtuous, (15) noble and virtuous scribes. (16) Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! (17) From what substance did He create him? (18) From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, (19) Then made his passage easy (at birth); (20) Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. (21) and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. (22) Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. (23) So man must look at his food. (24) how We pour down rain in abundance, (25) Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) (26) Thereby produced grain in it. (27) together with grapes and vegetables, (28) And olives and palms (29) And thick gardens, (30) and fruits and pastures (31) as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. (32) But when the Shout cometh (33) on that Day each person will flee from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father, (35) his consort, his sons, (36) for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. (37) Some faces will shine, (38) laughing and joyous (39) some faces on that day shall be dusty (40) Blackness will cover them. (41) Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. (42)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
