Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. (1) Because there came to him the blind man. (2) What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) (3) Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? (4) As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient (5) you eagerly attended to him -- (6) And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. (7) But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose (8) and fears (Allah), (9) Of him wast thou unmindful. (10) Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, (11) so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. (12) upon pages high-honoured, (13) Exalted and holy, (14) borne by the hands of scribes, (15) Who are noble, virtuous. (16) Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! (17) Of what did He create him? (18) From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; (19) and then makes it easy for him to go through life; (20) He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. (21) Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. (22) No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. (23) Let man reflect on the food he eats. (24) We let the rain pour down in torrents (25) Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, (26) And cause the grain to grow therein (27) And grapes and vegetables (28) And olives and date-palms, (29) thickly planted gardens, (30) and fruit and pastures, (31) (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. (32) AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard (33) Man will fly from his brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) his wife and his children. (36) on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- (37) Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, (40) Darkness will cover them, (41) Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. (42)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
