He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. (1) because the blind man approached him! (2) What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) (3) (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. (4) As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), (5) Unto him thou attendest. (6) although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; (7) But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose (8) and fearfully, (9) You neglect. (10) Nay! surely it is an admonishment. (11) So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. (12) upon highly honored pages, (13) Exalted and holy, (14) by the hands of scribes (15) noble and virtuous scribes. (16) Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! (17) Of what thing did He create him? (18) From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; (19) Then the way He made easy. (20) then makes him to die, and buries him, (21) Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). (22) Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. (23) Then let man look to his food, (24) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (25) Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], (26) Then We cause to grow therein the grain, (27) And grapes and vegetables (28) And olive and palm trees (29) Orchards thick with trees, (30) and fruits and pastures (31) as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. (32) But when the great calamity comes (33) on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, (34) And from his mother and father, (35) his wife and his children. (36) Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. (37) Faces on that Day shall be beaming, (38) and be cheerful and joyous. (39) And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. (40) enveloped by darkness. (41) Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
