Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). (2) You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, (3) Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? (4) As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, (5) Unto him thou payest regard. (6) Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). (7) But as to him who came to you running. (8) and in awe of God (9) to him thou payest no heed. (10) By no means! Verily it is an admonition. (11) So let whosoever will pay heed to it, (12) On honoured leaves (13) Exalted, purified, (14) In the hands of scribes (15) noble and pious. (16) Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! (17) From what stuff hath He created him? (18) Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, (19) and then made the course of life easy for him, (20) then makes him to die, and buries him, (21) and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. (22) Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. (23) Let man consider his food: (24) We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, (25) and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; (26) And produce therein corn, (27) And grapes and herbage (28) And olives and date-palms, (29) and burgeoning enclosed gardens (30) and fruit and pastures, (31) all this as a provision for you and your cattle. (32) Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), (33) Man will fly from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father (35) As well as his wife and children. (36) on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- (37) [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. (40) with darkness overspread: (41) Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. (42)
Almighty God's Truth.
