He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away (1) that the blind man came to him. (2) And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, (3) or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. (4) As for he who is sufficed (5) So you are after him! (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] (8) and fearfully, (9) you pay no heed to him. (10) Assuredly this is a reminder (11) So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. (12) (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). (13) exalted and purified, (14) [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, (15) noble and purified. (16) May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? (17) Of what did He create him? (18) From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, (19) and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. (20) Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. (21) Then He will raise him up again when He please. (22) By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. (23) Then let man look at his food, (24) That We watered it in abundance. (25) and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, (26) Then We cause therein the grain to grow, (27) And Grapes and nutritious plants, (28) and the olive, and the palm, (29) And enclosed gardens luxuriant. (30) and fruit and pastures, (31) (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. (32) Then when cometh the Deafening Cry (33) On the day when a man fleeth from his brother (34) his mother, his father, (35) and his consort and his children; (36) On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. (37) Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, (38) laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. (39) Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, (40) with darkness overspread: (41) These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. (42)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
