He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away (1) that the blind man came to him. (2) But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? (3) or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. (4) But the self-sufficient, (5) To him do you address yourself. (6) Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. (7) As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). (8) While he fears [Allah], (9) you pay no heed to him. (10) Assuredly this is a reminder (11) So whoever wishes may remember it. (12) It is set down on honoured pages, (13) Exalted (in dignity), purified, (14) by the hands of scribes (15) Noble and righteous. (16) Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. (17) From what has God created him? (18) Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, (19) Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) (20) then makes him to die, and buries him, (21) Then He will raise him up again when He please. (22) Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. (23) Let the human reflect on the food he eats, (24) For that We pour forth water in abundance, (25) and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; (26) how We made the grain to grow, (27) grapes, and fresh fodder, (28) And olive-trees and palm-trees (29) the densely tree'd gardens, (30) And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), (31) [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. (32) But when there comes the Deafening Blast (33) That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) his consort, his sons, (36) Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. (37) Some faces on that day will be radiant, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) whereas some faces will be covered with dust (40) with darkness overspread: (41) Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. (42)
Almighty God's Truth.
