He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. (1) Because a blind man came to him. (2) And what do you know, he may be of the pure! (3) Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? (4) For him who does not care, (5) Unto him thou attendest. (6) though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- (7) And to him who came to you eagerly (8) And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), (9) to him thou payest no heed. (10) These verses are a reminder (11) so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. (12) upon highly honored pages, (13) Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, (14) by the hands of the noble, virtuous, (15) noble and pious. (16) Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. (17) Of what thing hath He created him? (18) Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, (19) Then eased the way for him. (20) He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. (21) Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). (22) Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. (23) Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. (24) We poured down rain abundantly, (25) Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, (26) Then We cause to grow therein the grain, (27) And Grapes and nutritious plants, (28) olives, dates, (29) and dense orchards, (30) fruits, and grass. (31) A provision for you and your cattle. (32) Then when cometh the Deafening Cry (33) On the Day a man will flee from his brother (34) Mother and father, (35) And from his wife and his children. (36) Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. (37) On that day faces will be bright as dawn, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) some faces on that day shall be dusty (40) o'erspread with darkness -- (41) Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). (42)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
