Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) when the blind man approached him, (2) What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, (3) Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? (4) As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, (5) To him do you address yourself. (6) Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). (7) but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness (8) and fearfully, (9) Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, (10) Nay! surely it is an admonishment. (11) So let him who pleases mind it. (12) upon highly honored pages, (13) Exalted and holy, (14) In the hands of scribes (15) Honourable and obedient. (16) Perish man! how ungrateful he is! (17) From what did He create him? (18) From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, (19) and then makes it easy for him to go through life; (20) Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. (21) Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) (22) Yet man declines to do His bidding. (23) Then let man look at his food, (24) How We pour water in showers (25) And We split the earth in clefts, (26) And caused to grow within it grain (27) And Grapes and nutritious plants, (28) and olive trees and date-palms, (29) And gardens, dense with many trees, (30) and fruits and herbage, (31) (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. (32) So when the deafening Shout arrives, (33) on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, (34) And from his mother and father, (35) As well as his wife and children. (36) Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. (37) On that day faces will be bright as dawn, (38) Laughing, joyous. (39) And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, (40) Blackness overcoming them. (41) Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
