42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, (1) from a blind man who had come up to him. (2) And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, (3) or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. (4) Now he who waxes indifferent, (5) to a rich man, (6) although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; (7) but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness (8) And with fear (in his heart), (9) From him will you divert yourself. (10) Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. (11) So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. (12) upon pages high-honoured, (13) Exalted, Purified, (14) In the hands of scribes (angels). (15) noble and most virtuous. (16) Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. (17) [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? (18) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (19) then eased his path for him, (20) then makes him to die, and buries him, (21) Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. (22) Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. (23) Then let mankind look at his food - (24) That We pour forth water in abundance, (25) and let the earth to break open (26) And We cause therein the grain to grow, (27) grapes, and fresh fodder, (28) And olives and date palms, (29) thickly planted gardens, (30) And fruits and grass, (31) A provision for you and for your cattle. (32) Then when cometh the Deafening Cry (33) The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, (34) his mother, his father, (35) And his spouse and his son-- (36) on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. (37) Some faces that Day will be beaming, (38) laughing and joyous (39) And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. (40) Darkness will cover them, (41) They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
