Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) when the blind came to him. (2) But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified (3) Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. (4) As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), (5) Unto him thou attendest. (6) Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). (7) As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). (8) and in awe of God (9) From him will you divert yourself. (10) No indeed; it is a Reminder (11) So whoso wills may give heed to it. (12) (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, (13) Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, (14) by the hands of the noble, virtuous, (15) Noble and righteous. (16) Perish man! how ungrateful he is! (17) From what substance did He create him? (18) From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; (19) Then eased the way for him. (20) Then He causes him to die and be buried. (21) and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. (22) By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. (23) Let man look at his food: (24) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (25) then We split the earth in fissures (26) and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, (27) And grapes and fodder, (28) And Olives and Dates, (29) And thick gardens, (30) And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), (31) for you and for your animals to enjoy. (32) But when the deafening blast is sounded, (33) On the day when a man fleeth from his brother (34) his mother, his father, (35) And his spouse and his son-- (36) Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. (37) Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) but others will be gloomy (40) Covered with the blackness (of shame): (41) These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. (42)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
