Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, (1) Because there came to him the blind man. (2) And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, (3) Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? (4) As for him who thinketh himself independent, (5) you attend to him, (6) though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. (7) As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). (8) And is also fearful (of God), (9) you ignore him. (10) Not this way this is the advice. (11) and whosoever wills, shall remember it. (12) (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, (13) exalted, purified, (14) In the hands of scribes (angels). (15) Noble, virtuous. (16) Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; (17) Out of what did Allah create him? (18) Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, (19) Then doth He make His path smooth for him; (20) Then He caused him to die and be buried (21) and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. (22) No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. (23) Let Man consider his nourishment. (24) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (25) then We split the earth in fissures (26) We make the grain grow out of it, (27) And grapes and green fodder (28) olives, dates, (29) and gardens dense with foliage, (30) And fruits and grasses: (31) In order to benefit you and your cattle. (32) But when there comes the Deafening Blast (33) it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father (35) his wife and his sons: (36) Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). (37) Many a face will be glittering on that day. (38) laughing, joyous; (39) And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, (40) Darkness shall cover them. (41) those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. (42)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
