Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. (1) Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). (2) And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. (3) or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. (4) As for him who is not in want of any thing, (5) to him didst thou give thy whole attention, (6) though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. (7) But he who comes to you running, (8) And hath fear, (9) you pay no heed to him. (10) By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: (11) So whoever wills may remember it. (12) On honourable pages. (13) Exalted, pure. (14) (Written) by the hands of scribes- (15) and angelic scribes. (16) Perish the human! How unthankful he is! (17) From what thing did He create him? (18) From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, (19) then the way eased for him, (20) Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. (21) and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, (22) By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. (23) Then let mankind look at his food - (24) How We pour water in showers (25) and split the earth, splitting, (26) And produce therein corn, (27) And grapes and vegetables (28) olives, dates, (29) And dense gardens, (30) And fruits and fodder,- (31) an enjoyment for you and your flocks. (32) AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard (33) on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father, (35) his consort, his sons, (36) On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. (37) Many faces will that day be bright, (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, (40) Blackness will cover them. (41) Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. (42)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
