He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, (1) when the blind came to him. (2) And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. (3) Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? (4) But the self-sufficient, (5) you attend to him, (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) And he who comes to thee eagerly (8) and in awe [of God] (9) of him you were unmindful. (10) Nay! surely it is an admonishment. (11) so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. (12) (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, (13) uplifted, purified, (14) (Written) by the hands of scribes- (15) Noble and pious. (16) Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! (17) From what stuff hath He created him? (18) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (19) Then eased the way for him. (20) Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. (21) Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. (22) Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. (23) Then let mankind look at his food - (24) [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; (25) Then We split the earth properly. (26) And We cause therein the grain to grow, (27) And grapes and green fodder (28) And olives and palms (29) Orchards thick with trees, (30) And fruits and herbage (31) (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. (32) And when the Blast shall sound, (33) on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, (34) Mother and father, (35) And from his wife and his children. (36) For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. (37) [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; (40) enveloped by darkness. (41) Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. (42)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
