He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. (1) that the blind man came to him. (2) And what would make you know that he would purify himself, (3) (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. (4) For him who does not care, (5) you attend to him, (6) What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). (7) And as for him who cometh unto thee running, (8) And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), (9) Of him wast thou unmindful. (10) These verses are a reminder (11) So whoever wills may remember it. (12) upon pages high-honoured, (13) Exalted, purified, (14) borne by the hands of scribes, (15) noble and virtuous scribes. (16) Perish the human! How unthankful he is! (17) From what has God created him? (18) From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; (19) Then He makes the Path easy for him; (20) then causes him to die and buries him, (21) then, He will raise him when He wills. (22) No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. (23) Let Man consider his nourishment. (24) how We pour down rain in abundance, (25) Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) (26) to yield therein corn, (27) And grapes and fodder, (28) and the olive, and the palm, (29) the densely tree'd gardens, (30) And fruit and grass - (31) Provision for you and your cattle. (32) But when the deafening cry comes, (33) on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, (34) and from his mother and father, (35) his wife and his children. (36) Each man will have enough cares that day. (37) Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). (38) Laughing, rejoicing. (39) And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, (40) and overcast with gloom: (41) Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. (42)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
