Juz 30
He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) Because a blind man came to him. (2) And what do you know, he may be of the pure! (3) Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? (4) Yet you pay attention (5) to a rich man, (6) And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. (7) And he who comes to thee eagerly (8) And with fear (in his heart), (9) you pay no heed to him. (10) Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, (11) Let him who will, pay heed to it. (12) On honoured leaves (13) Exalted, Purified, (14) In the hands of scribes (15) Honourable and Virtuous. (16) Perish Man! How unthankful he is! (17) Of what [stuff] has He created him? (18) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (19) Then eased the way for him. (20) Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. (21) and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. (22) No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. (23) Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. (24) We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, (25) Then split the earth in clefts (26) And caused to grow within it grain (27) And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), (28) olives, dates, (29) And gardens of dense shrubbery (30) and fruits and fodder (31) for you and for your herds to delight in. (32) When the trumpet sounds, (33) on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, (34) his mother and his father, (35) And his wife and his children, (36) for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. (37) Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). (38) laughing and joyous (39) And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, (40) Darkness shall cover them. (41) These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. (42)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
