He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) Because there came to him the blind man. (2) How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, (3) or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. (4) Yet you pay attention (5) you attended to him, (6) though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. (7) but as for one who comes to you, eagerly (8) and in awe of God (9) Him thou neglectest! (10) By no means! Verily it is an admonition. (11) So let him who pleases mind it. (12) upon highly honored pages, (13) Exalted, pure. (14) by the hands of scribes (15) noble, pious. (16) Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; (17) Of what [stuff] has He created him? (18) Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, (19) Then made his passage easy (at birth); (20) He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. (21) Then He will raise him up again when He please. (22) Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. (23) Then let man look at his food, (24) For that We pour forth water in abundance, (25) and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, (26) Then We cause therein the grain to grow, (27) And grapes and fodder, (28) And olive and palm trees (29) And enclosed gardens luxuriant. (30) And fruits and herbage: (31) [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. (32) But when the deafening blast is sounded, (33) on that Day each person will flee from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father (35) wife and sons, (36) Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. (37) Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). (38) Laughing, rejoicing at good news. (39) but others will be gloomy (40) with darkness overspread: (41) Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. (42)
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
