He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away (1) Because there came unto him a blind man. (2) And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. (3) Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? (4) As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient (5) You pay full attention, (6) Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). (7) But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, (8) and fearfully, (9) of him you were unmindful. (10) Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. (11) For any one who desires to bear it in mind, (12) (Contained) in honoured pages, (13) Exalted and holy, (14) (Written) by the hands of scribes- (15) Honourable and Virtuous. (16) Perish the human! How unthankful he is! (17) From what did He create him? (18) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (19) Then maketh the way easy for him, (20) Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; (21) Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. (22) Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. (23) So man must look at his food. (24) We poured down rain abundantly, (25) Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, (26) And We made corn grow, (27) And grapes and herbage, (28) And Olives and Dates, (29) and gardens dense with foliage, (30) And fruits and fodder: (31) A provision for you and your cattle. (32) So when the deafening Shout arrives, (33) on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, (34) And his mother and his father, (35) and his consort and his children; (36) For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy (37) On that day faces will be bright as dawn, (38) laughing, joyous; (39) whereas some faces will be covered with dust (40) with darkness overspread: (41) It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. (42)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
