The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) (1) by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, (2) And who glide with ease. (3) and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], (6) The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), (7) Many a heart will flutter on that day! (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? (10) even after we have turned into decayed bones?" (11) [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" (12) It will only be a single blast, (13) and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). (14) Has not there come to you the story of Musa? (15) Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: (16) [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" (19) So he showed him the greater sign; (20) But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; (21) Then he turned back striving. (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. (25) Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). (26)
