The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, (1) And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) (2) And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). (5) One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, (6) and will be followed by the second one, (7) hearts will be throbbing, (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, (10) "Even after we are crumbled bones?" (11) They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." (12) Surely it will need but one shout, (13) and behold, they are awakened. (14) Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (15) When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: (16) saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, (17) "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- (18) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). (19) Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. (20) In response, he denied and disobeyed. (21) then he turned away hastily, (22) So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. (23) and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," (24) but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: (25) Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). (26)
