The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) And [by] those who remove with ease (2) and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and (3) And who quickly present themselves. (4) And direct affairs by command, (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) Hearts that Day will be in agitation; (8) Unable to lift their gaze. (9) They say: "Shall we go back to our original state (10) After having turned to carious bones?" (11) They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" (12) But it shall be only a single scare, (13) And lo! they will be awakened. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. (16) Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. (17) And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; (18) and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' (19) He showed him the mighty sign, (20) In response, he denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned back striving. (22) And he gathered [his people] and called out (23) “I am the supreme lord of you all.” (24) So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. (25) Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. (26)
