The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, (1) and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, (2) And who glide with ease. (3) And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). (4) by the managers (angels) affair. (5) The day on which the quaking one shall quake, (6) What must happen afterwards shall follow it. (7) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (8) Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. (9) They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? (10) "Even after we are crumbled bones?" (11) They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' (12) [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry (13) to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. (14) Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? (15) When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) and say: "Will you purify yourself, (18) that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” (19) Moses showed him the great miracle (20) But he denied and disobeyed, (21) and hastily turned away, (22) then, he gathered, proclaimed, (23) and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" (24) So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. (25) Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! (26)
