The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; (1) and those that draw out violently, (2) by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently (3) By the angels hastening, (4) And those who arrange [each] matter, (5) On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], (6) And the following event will come after it. (7) hearts upon that day shall be athrob (8) Their eyes cast down. (9) They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? (10) even after we are fragmented bones' (11) They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. (12) But it shall be only a single cry, (13) So they will immediately be in an open plain. (14) Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! (15) When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16) (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - (17) And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? (18) Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). (19) So he showed him the greater sign; (20) But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. (21) Then he turned back striving. (22) and gathered his people together (23) Saying: "I am your lord, most high", (24) And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. (25) In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. (26)
